When our youngest son was born, we soon learned that he was deaf. He was born with Connexin 26. Our family immediately immersed ourselves with information to learn more about the tools we would need and the available resources to help our son thrive in the hearing and spoken world. He was bilaterally implanted with cochlear implants when he was 12 months old.
The more we researched, the more we found that there were many things not accessible for children with hearing loss. We found ourselves grappling with this fact and constantly found ourselves brainstorm solutions.
That’s when we decided to become the resource we wish we had when we learned of his hearing loss. The tools, the products, the resources and stories are what we plan to share here through Hear for You.
